Music! You can help yourself but fall in love with the city. Walk the strees of the French Quarter. Stop in for a bowl of Gumbo and a song. Let the good times roll.

Its hard to believe that 20 years ago the city was flooded by Katrina. I remember the storm and the destruction

Its a city I have been to many times as a young journlist. My first huricane was there. I was a new photojournalist at CNN. We set up in Jackson Square. Except for the Port a potty! The winds blew it over and the whole square smelled.
Years later I covered Huricane Katrina. I was in Biloxi Mississippi when she made land fall. Then I spent a month in New Orleans covering the aftermath.

Today the city is full of life

I see life color and people. its a happy place where people can be themselves. Who cares? Not New Orleans. You can be yourself or reenvent yourself.
