The Baggy Pants Newspaper Photographer

|My father, Ross Catanza, was a photojournalist in Pittsburgh for over 50 years. As the story goes, I was asked in first grade, “What does your father do”? I said, ” he’s a baggy pants newspaper man”.    Years later I was told I used the word ass vs pants. The photos in this blog are my father’s photos from the old Pittsburgh Press. I own the negatives. And since 2012, I have been digitizing them. They show the daily news cycle of Pittsburgh between 1967 and 1991. Many of these photos have never been seen. But more importantly, they show everyday life through my father’s eyes.
