Sharon’s Horse Heaven, an amazing experience for you and your horse.

Horseback ridging in Pennsylvania

It’s not everyday I get to leave Pittsburgh. Today American Dream TV asked me to film a segment at Sharon’s Horse Heaven. It was a long drive up to the Allegheny National Forest. But worth it! During my drive I saw the city building turn into the green trees. The Allegheny National Forest welcomed me with open arms. As I drove through the thick trees I came across a small road and sign, leading me to Sharon’s Horse Heaven.

Sharon loved visiting the Allegheny National Forest. So when this old farm came available in Marienville, Pa, she bought it! It was place filled with old apple orchards, and a stone quarry. But it was the gateway to the forest. Over the years, trails were blazed through the apple orchards and into the forest. The barm was remodeled to include a 2 bedroom cabin. Stalls were rebuilt for horses. Finally Sharons Horse Heaven became real.

It’s a gem that only Elaine Shetler-Libent could find. She’s a host American Dream TV. It’s a lifestyle show that highlights living in Pittsburgh. I am one of the shows Pittsburgh based videographer. I love the show because it highlights amazing place like this. . As I started shooting,I realized this place is not only beautiful but huge. It called for the drone. Drone and horses? Before the shoot I flew over the horses. They heard the buzz. The horses soon realized it was nothing to worry about.

As the horses ventured into the apple orchard, I flew 150 feet, just enough to clear the trees and see the forest. Trees as far as the eye could see. As the horses entered the orchard I flew lower and was able to track them. The drone was my “work horse” covering ground I couldn’t do with my big camera. The peacefulness was only broken by the buzz of my drone. Its hard to believe a place like this is only 2 hours north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Apple Orchard trail.

This video is just a tease. I can’t wait to see Elaine Shetler-Libent American Dream TV episode. The show airs Sunday mornings on WPXI.

The Barn Cabin

What a great idea. This small cabin is inside the barn. But you wouldn’t know it. It’s a beautiful modern apartment with views of the farm. And you are only a few feet away from your horse. The best way to show the cottage is in 360. Sit back and enjoy the tour. Or you can click on the photo and make your own tour of the cottage.

Sharon’s Horse Heaven also has 4 campsites with electric hookup.  The Farm’s nearby trail systems is great vacation for you and your horse.  Don’t forget the Clarion River. It’s a great place for kayaking/tubing. And don’r forget biking along its new bike trail!
