Steelers flash back

It’s NFL draft day. And I thought this would be a great time to look back on the Steelers of my childhood. As a kid in Pittsburgh, I loved the Steelers. Every Sunday, I wore a Bradshaw jersey. And when I out grew it….. I moved on to Lynn Swann.

Sundays in the fall started with church. Then breakfast and talk about the Steelers. Around 10am Dad would head to work. Dad was a photojournalist, and his assignment was the Steelers! Around 1pm I would start cheering the Steelers. I watched them on TV. The games back then were on WPXI/NBC. Win or lose, Dad always gave me photo prints from the game

The photo is a little beat up. I found it in the basement. No logos like today, just coaching.

Touchdowns at Three Rivers Stadium. This was one of the things I love to see on Sunday afternoons
