The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month ended World War One in 1918. That’s the date of the first one. 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month 2016 was the day of Dad’s last. Ross was a WW2 Vet. He severed with the 8th Army in Italy. Which made perfect sense his first language was Italian My grandparents came from Italy in the 1920’s To them America represented freedom and a new beginning. For Dad being a vet was important. He saw the ugly of the world. First fighting the Nazis in Northern Italy. He was an Infantry Scout. Basically he hoped in a jeep and drove around looking for Germans. He saw Nazi and Italian Fascist first had. There weren’t many World War Two at the parade. But day said, he wanted to honor all vets. It wasn’t an easy day for him. But Ross grabbed his oxygen tank and his cane. I tried to park as close as possible. To shorten his walk. But it was a hard walk and after wards day said……..

Nothing worth doing is easy. And maybe that’s the true meaning of Veterans Day
